An Unknown Adventure to being at Home
Several months pass and a new year and decade has arrived. One might say with a bit of a dull thud. Can't say this year has been very kind and even now as I write this it's hard not to feel a little overwhelmed with the current world crisis.
However, with my new found time working at home I am determined if nothing else to make the most of it.
So what am I am doing?
Firstly, making sure to finish projects that I've abandoned from lack of motivation or distractions. This is an interesting exercise in perseverance and trying to come up with ways of using some things made that never really had an actual purpose in mind. Case in point is the following piece... I stitched this to create a TikTok video (I've been dabbling, don't judge).
However, I had no idea at the time what I was then going to do with. Cut to nearly four months later..
Mini Cleric Bag - I stitched the Cleric part for a mini TikTok video created back in November it's now a finished product.
Decided to get the new Artful subscription box. Arrived this month and I really love the look and feel of it. i am going to make sure that I use the materials that came with it. Normally I forget or squirrel things away for a 'rainy day' or feel it's too nice to use. But if nothing of what's going on around us has proven. Use what you got and get the most out of the simple things in life. Nothing quite beats a new pen on fresh paper. So when stuck at home get creative. It also came with a 3 months subscription to SkillShare.
Overall, it's all about getting back to things that make me smile, even in the darkest of times or simply just calm my soul. This is me getting back to things abandoned to say I haven't given up it's just time to return.
ME
Which leads nicely into my learning either new things or things that just give me a bit more of a push. I've been adding to my list and they range from creating habits that stick through to daily art practice. Also want to get the most out of taking photographs using my mobile and some point when I can get hold of one, streaming. Something that's been on my mind for a while.
For anyone interested I do have this code you can use for trying it for 2 months... not entirely sure how that works but here.
